Track Training - Why?

There is a view that track training is for track athletes and Olympic runners and there is no place for the road runner striving to break an hour for 10k, or any other worthy target.

Well there is value in all athletes spending time on the track, the track tends to be broken into 3 parts:

  • Warm Up - its now a dynamic process these days, we don't stand on one leg or attempt to push walls over! These exercise work through a series of activities that take the body and limbs through running type motions
  • Technical Drills - these activities work on biomechanical type work to improve the efficiency of your running.
  • The Track Session - this will be developed based on ability and target times
  • Warm Down and a chance to review the session and discuss training plans

Why not give it a try - its not just for Sir Mo!!
